概要

The student visa (留学ビザ) allows foreign nationals to study at Japanese universities, vocational schools, language schools, and other educational institutions.

📋 取得条件

Requirements

  • Acceptance letter from a Japanese educational institution
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) issued by the school or immigration
  • Valid passport
  • Health certificate (may be required)

Note: Part-time work is allowed up to 28 hours per week with a work permit.

Procedure

  1. Apply and get accepted to a Japanese school
  2. School applies for your COE (takes 1–3 months)
  3. Receive COE and apply for student visa at Japanese embassy
  4. Enter Japan within 3 months of visa issuance
  5. Receive residence card at the airport
  6. Register address at city hall within 14 days
  7. If working part-time, apply for a work permit at immigration
