Requirements

  • Points system: Based on age, education, work experience, salary, and Japanese language proficiency
  • 70+ points: Eligible for highly skilled professional visa
  • 80+ points: Eligible for permanent residency after just 1 year
  • Job offer from a Japanese company
  • Minimum salary of ¥3,000,000/year required (higher for some subcategories)

Three subcategories:
- Type i: Advanced academic research
- Type ii: Advanced specialized/technical work
- Type iii: Advanced business management

📝 手続き手順

Procedure

  1. Calculate your points using the official METI/Immigration points calculator
  2. Secure a job offer (employer applies for COE)
  3. Apply for visa with COE at Japanese embassy
  4. Enter Japan and receive residence card
  5. Benefits include no minimum years required for permanent residency applications
